Gov. Jerry Brown signed a bill Saturday that will let electric car drivers with a white sticker from the state drive solo in carpool lanes till 2019.
That privilege was previously set to expire in 2015, the L.A. Times reports.
"Today, we reaffirm our commitment in California to an electric vehicle future," Brown said in a signing statement.
The governor also signed bills that will allow low-emissions vehicles with green stickers to use HOV lanes longer, and vetoed a proposalto allow all solo drivers to use some carpool lanes in non-peak hours.
Thanks Gov. Brown. Now how about some new bike lanes?
