Netherlands is the first location in Europe for Tesla assembly plant

Forefront to the reported expansion plans in Europe, Tesla has just opened its first assembly plant on the Old Continent, located in Tilburg, Netherlands
The new location is not a purported production facility, as the cars are shipped over from the US and only arrive at the plant for final assembly before delivery. The Tilburg, Netherlands, location was also created as a new distribution site for the luxury electric car company’s European customers. Tesla said the site would be its final assembly and distribution point for Model S vehicles sold in Europe as well as Tesla’s European service and parts headquarters.
The U.S. Company began deliveries of its Model S sedan in Norway earlier this month and said that some of its first Dutch, Belgian, French and German customers received their cars at the brand new Tilburg facility on Thursday.
According to Tesla, Tilburg is an ideal location given its proximity to the port of Rotterdam and the high quality and availability of transportation infrastructure. Up until now, the Palo Alto, California based Tesla has delivered over 15,000 electric vehicles to customers in 31 countries.
