A £1.3 billion plan for 90 wind turbines in the Firth of Forth reached an important milestone after East Lothian Council approved the onshore work.

Twelve kilometres of buried cable will be laid between Thortonloch beach near Dunbar, where the subsea cable will reach the shore, and the Crystal Rig wind farm in the Lammermuir Hills, to allow a connection to the National Grid. A new sub-station will be build at Crystal Rig, next to an existing sub-station.
