Jeep's next generation Wrangler, which is due in 2016, will be the first to offer a pickup truck version based on the popular SUV.
Jeep does not sell a pickup truck today, but that doesn’t mean you can’t convert a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited into a pickup. Jeep sells a JK-8 conversion kit to turn your Wrangler into a compact pickup truck. This kit can be found in the MOPAR catalog, but it doesn’t have the monopoly on chopped Wranglers turned into 2 door pickups. In this fun and informative TFLtruck video we check out what an Unlimited Jeep Wrangler looks like without the rear doors. You might think it would be easy to convert a Jeep Wrangler into a Jeep Scrambler…but you might be wrong. You have a choice between doing an extensive welding project to a more straight forward bolt-on kit. No matter what path you choose, this project will take considerable time and skill.

According to the 49-year old company representative, Jeep fans will finally get the long-awaited Wrangler-based pickup truck in 2016, along with a brand-new, bigger than the Grand Cherokee SUV.
Moreover, Manley also confirmed Jeep's intention of becoming a player in the smaller B-segment SUV class and plans for the Grand Wagoneer that's been rumored for a few years now
Jeep will offer a kit to convert your Wrangler Unlimited—that’s the four-door Wrangler—to a pickup, satisfying the dreams of all car fans with a pulse. The news comes as part of Mopar’s Michigan presentation for the company’s annual Moab Easter Jeep Safari, at which the vehicle you see above was displayed. The company is looking at offering two versions of the package. One will be a “backyard bolt-in” kit, which can be done by a handy—and crazy—person in a weekend. The other sees customers bringing their Wrangler Unlimited to a body shop with the official parts for a more professional (and permanent) job, swapping welds for bolts.
