Nissan e-NV200 revealed, debuts in Tokyo

Nissan has unveiled an electric version of the NV200 Concept at the Detroit Auto Show and revealed on Tokyo Motor Show.
Nissan currently has Leaf Electric Vehicle on the market and the majority of its drivetrain components have made the journey to their larger sibling, including the 80kW lithium-ion battery that generates 207 lb-ft (280 Nm) of torque.
Initially scheduled to launch this year following the premiere of a concept at the beginning of 2012, Nissan will introduce the e-NV200 in Japan during the second half of 2014 before rolling it out to other markets around the world from 2015.
Specifications remain a mystery but the e-NV200 panel van concept had a lithium-ion battery and an electric motor that produced 109 HP (80 kW) and 280 Nm (206 lb-ft) of torque.
The e-NV200 will go on sale in Japan next year and will eventually be sold worldwide.
