by Mahsoom Thottathil
Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which started yesterday had F1 fans from the country and visitors on a high adrenaline rush.
A record 55,000 crowd from more than 80 countries is expected for the sold-out race weekend at the magnificient Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, designed by Hermann Tilke.
Abu Dhabi Grand Prix’s inaugural race in 2009 was Formula One’s first ever day-night race. Floodlights used to illuminate the circuit were switched on from the start of the event to ensure a seamless transition from daylight to darkness. Subsequent Abu Dhabi Grands Prix have also been day-night races.
One of world’s top tyre makers Pirelli company has come out with an Infographic on Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, with a few historical information about the Yas Marina Circuit.
