Leaf Sees 82 Percent Sale Increase For July In Canada

Nissan reported July Canadian sales of 8,176 units, an increase of 53.8 percent from last year.
The Nissan division sales totaled 7,436 deliveries, up 60.4 percent, with five of its core models – Pathfinder, Altima, Rogue, Sentra and Versa – posting significant increases.
Nissan’s electric car, the Leaf, saw 42 units leave dealers lots in July, an increase of 82.6 percent compared to July 2012.
The Infiniti division deliveries totaled 740 units, an increase of nearly nine percent over 2012.
“I am delighted that our efforts to provide Canadians with the right product line-up has increased traffic in our showrooms and ultimately impacted sales,” said Christian Meunier, President, Nissan Canada Inc. “With the all-new products like the recently launched Nissan Versa Note and the Infiniti Q50 coming soon, we’re excited to build on this momentum into the second half of the year.”
Compacts did well for the brand. The Nissan Sentra was the strongest seller in the line-up with a 32.9 percent year-over-year increase and 1,511 units sold.
With the first full month of availability of the all-new Versa Note, Nissan Versa sales increased 37.7 percent over last year with 1,242 units sold.
Meanwhile, the Altima and Rogue posted year-over-year increases of 84.2 and 53.9 percent, respectively.
Going smaller also benefited the commercial vehicle side of Nissan in Canada. The all-new NV200 compact commercial van enjoyed its best month yet with 72 units sold.
