The times are changing in supercar land. Everyone, and I mean everyone, is going hybrid. That includes the new LaFerrari ultra-mega-hyper-super-dupercar. And it won't be the only Ferrari hybrid
Ferrari's arch-duke-esque chairman, Luca di Montezelmolo has said in the past that Ferrari would never build a full electric car.But he never said that he had a distaste for hybrids.
In fact, it's quite the opposite. He says he "believes strongly in hybrids." He toldBloomberg that the company is actually working on even more hybrids now, but they won't "exceed what the customers want."

I take that to mean that Ferrari's hybrid system will remain in the background. Unlike the new Porsche 918 and McLaren P1, a Ferrari hybrid will never run in an electric-only mode or use the hybrid system for anything other than increasing performance and slightly reducing CO2 output.
That's the way it should be. And it's good to see a performance car company that knows it's base and isn't going to pander for more sales
