Dubai to release the State of Energy Report

Dubai
The Dubai Supreme Council of Energy (DSCE) will issue The State of Energy Report in October this year to serve as the first blueprint or guide about the energy sector in Dubai, Saeed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of DSCE said yesterday.
He said: “The report will tackle all issues related to energy sectors including records on development of the energy sector and its structure, green economy, green buildings, renewable energy, efficiency, infrastructure, transportation, transmission, supply, demand management, fuel, innovation and so on.”
The release of this report will come in conjunction with the World Energy Day. “The UNDP treats this as a pilot project that can potentially be rolled out across the region. Dubai has taken the lead under the guidance of the Supreme Council. The Report features interviews, editorials and case studies on various aspects of the energy field including green economy, energy efficiency, renewable energy, fuel, mobility and others,” said Paolo Lembo, UN Resident Coordinator.
Proposal
Lembo added that they are disusing with the DSCE the possibility of establishing an Arab Renewable Energy Council to enhance the sustainable development goal of the energy sector across the Arab world. Such a move will help track the evolution across this sector as well as ensure progress and provide incentives to keep moving forward with this sector, he added.
