Students take green energy fight to international stage

NEWS CENTER
CAMDEN, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - Five students from the Camden area are in the country of Sweden competing against the world.
They're representing all of North America in a competition sponsored by Volvo and the United Nations.
A student group called The Windplanners has planned for, negotiated with townspeople and done all the fundraising for the installation of a 100 KW wind turbine.
It's been running for more than a year.
Through the project the students have gained not only a belief in wind power and alternative energy, but their teacher says they've gained belief in themselves.
The students are competing for a $10,000 prize which they hope to roll into more energy efficiency projects at the school.
