Aruba to Use a Hundred Percent of Renewable Energy

Oranjestad, Jun 26 (Prensa Latina) Aruba gain progress in its goal to become the world's first economy to use one hundred percent of its energy coming from renewable sources by 2020.The Caribbean News Now website points out that as part of that strategy the autonomous territory of the Netherlands built the Vader Piet wind farm, which produces 20 percent of the energy of the island.
They are now working on another similar facility that will double the production of energy from wind.
The high temperatures, trade winds and strong ocean currents allow Aruba develop various sources of renewable energy, highlights the website.
Aruba opportunities are extraordinary, it could be a model for the world in terms of a sustainable place to live and work, estimated professor at Harvard University George Baker.
Bianca Peters also commented, a Dutch expert, who considered the importance of the island for the development of that type of technology.
