Acciona inks turbine spares tie-up

Spain’s Acciona Energy has signed an agreement with independent component player Spares in Motion to boost its profile in Spain’s wind turbine aftermarket.
Acciona will add 2000 catalogued products from its own range and third party brands including Vestas, Gamesa, GE and NEG Micon to the Dutch e-business platform, which boasts more than 700 registered buyers.
Spares in Motion said the agreement will help cut costs for service providers by “creating transparency in the availability of spare parts” while boosting turbine up-time.
Almost 27% of Spain’s 22,800 MW operational wind capacity was installed by Acciona using hardware from various companies.
