More than 500 cars from the world’s top auto makers are represented at the annual show and they fill out all 700,000 square feet of the exhibition space at Reliant Center.
Wyatt Wainwright is with the Houston Automobile Dealers Association, which produces the show. He says while Houston may not be one of the four major auto shows in the country, it’s important to the car industry.
“It’s huge. I mean, obviously these manufacturers know that Texas is going to be where it’s... I mean, especially if you’re in the truck business. So, you know, Ford, Chevy, GMC, Toyota, Nissan. This is where it’s happening.”
The 2014 Houston Auto Show returns Wednesday, Jan.22 to Sunday, Jan.26 at the Reliant Center. Occupying over 700,000 square feet of display space in Reliant Center, this year’s show features the latest vehicles from the world’s best automakers in a wide variety of styles and price ranges.
For years, the Houston Auto Show, produced by the Houston Automobile Dealers Association, has brought the global automotive world to Texas, allowing consumers to see, touch, drive and experience the auto industry’s latest and greatest offerings, all under one roof. Over 34 manufacturers will be on display at this year’s show, including Acura, Audi, BMW, Buick, Mercedes, Cadillac, GMC, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram, Fiat, Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Infiniti, Jaguar, Kia, Land Rover, Lexus, Lincoln, Mazda, Subaru, Toyota, Volkswagen, Volvo, MINI, Nissan and Scion. Plus, the high-end luxury vehicle boutique will return for its third year featuring Lotus, Aston Martin, Porsche, and Maserati.
2014 Houston Auto Show Highlights:
Experience“Ride & Drive” heaven, with over 60 models to test drive from a variety of manufacturers, inside the Eagle Ride & Drive Lounge as well as outside in the parking lot in front of the Reliant Center.
New this year, on the show floor, the "Ram Truck brand Test Track" offers an interactive test-track outfitted for the North American Truck of the year, the RAM 1500 pickup truck.
Texans can also experience the return of Camp Jeep's Four-Wheel Drive Adventure, right on the show floor.The Show also includes a ‘Kids Fun Zone,’ which provides a designated area for children to play and test out their own vehicles.
