Italy’s Enel Green Power (EGP) has started construction work at three wind farms in Brazil that will add a total of 193MW to its fleet in the country.
EGP is building the Curva dos Ventos, Fontes dos Ventos and Modelo plants in the northeast Brazilian states of Bahia, Pernambuco and Rio Grande do Norte respectively.
The Italian group will spend about €330m ($427m) building the plants, which it was awarded in Brazil’s 2011 tender process.
They will use SWT 2.3-101 wind turbines from Germany's Siemens.
No commissioning schedule is given for the wind farms, but EGP said it expects to be operating 283MW in Brazil by the end of next year.
